Bowker sharpens focus on Bolton centre, forecasts 20% growth in used sales


AM100 motor retailer Bowker Motor Group has announced a major investment in its Bolton centre, forecasting a 20% increase in sales of used cars and motorcycles across the group in 2025.

The family-owned dealership, which operates nine dealerships across Lancashire and Greater Manchester, plans for this growth to be driven by a renewed focus on its primary franchise centres.

One key area of investment will be the Porsche Centre in Bolton which the group acquired from Lithia Motors Group UK in November to join Bowker’s Porsche Centre Preston which opened in 2019.

Previously part of the Stratstone network, Porsche Centre Bolton benefits from a modern showroom for new and approved pre-owned vehicles and sector-leading service facilities, including a 12-bay workshop, a customer-facing vehicle inspection bay and a customer lounge.

CEO Paul Bowker told the Bolton News: “With our franchise centres driving more customer engagement than ever, we’re in a great position to grow our used car and motorcycle businesses. By focusing on our key brand partnerships, we can offer a wider range of approved used vehicles backed by manufacturer support and high standards of service.”

As part of its strategy to optimise resources and meet growing demand for manufacturer-approved used vehicles, the group’s decision to consolidate operations within its franchise centres which will result in the closure of its prestige Bowker Ribble Valley retail site which opened  in 2012.

Bowker added: “We’ve always adapted our business to deliver the best possible service to our customers. With recent investments like Porsche Centre Bolton and our group preparation centres, coupled with the continued strength of our franchise operations, we’re confident that 2025 will see even greater opportunities for growth in the used car and motorcycle market.”
